The white suit still had the tag on it. Brand new from the store. Turning the metal hook, the owner secured it over the door, unzipped the garment bag and slid it off. Smiling, the person grabbed a pint can and pried the lid off with a screwdriver. Not bothering to mix the liquid, they dipped a brush in the thick black goo and smeared the paint on the white suit…

Who would do that?

Nobody, right?

Why? Because it’s brand new, for one thing; and secondly, you wouldn’t wear clothing that was smothered in black paint. That’s not who you are. That’s not your character. When you come home from the store with a new outfit; you treasure it, you take care of it as best you can.

When Christ redeemed us, He made us brand new. Like the white suit before the paint episode, we didn’t have a speck on us. But He also gave us a choice – like the example above, we have the option to go back to the way of life that made us dirty or continue to live in God’s grace and glorious peace. Yet, with the decline of our nation, it seems like God’s people have fallen right in with the downhill spiral. We have a generation of Christians who are redeemed by the blood of Jesus, but they don’t live like they are.

Maybe you’re one of them. Maybe you believe the world is so far gone you don’t think one little life like yours or mine would make a dent in the evil around you. Maybe you think it’s a lost cause – Christians should just go to church, read their Bibles, raise their kids as best they can and keep out of the world’s way. Just let them do their thing.

Friend, if this is how you feel, I would like you to read and think upon our Key Scripture for today. The power that raised Christ from the dead dwells in you. YOU! You may say, “But I don’t feel it.” Well, you don’t have to. The power of God doesn’t work like the magic you see on movies where someone looks like they’re meditating on something and then bam! They begin shaking and say, “I can feel the power!” No, God’s power is not like this. This power that we’re talking about is released through what we call faith…and it is often felt in a still, small voice.

Listen to track four – Live Like We’re Redeemed.

Our Lord Jesus Christ has given us a life like no other. Through Him, we can live victorious. No matter what the world is doing, we don’t have to lower ourselves to their standard. Don’t lay your weapons down and give up because bad things happen. Don’t let the world taunt you with a lie that the battle is lost…because it isn’t. The world is not greater than our God. As the line in the bridge says, “When we plead the blood of Jesus over what we cannot change, we know the King of Kings will have the final say!”

“But,” you say, “My life isn’t where I want it to be right now, so I can’t make much of a difference.” That’s not true – everyone can make a difference and Jesus can change your life if you’re not in the place you feel you should be. Let His power and grace cover you in such a way that people can’t help but notice your joy and zest for life.

Friends, it’s time to show the world what they’re missing…

It’s time to live unashamed. It’s time to Live Redeemed.
